Muslim Welfare House

 

Job Title:                    Executive Director

 

Reporting to:             Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

 

Responsible for:       all staff & Volunteers

 

Salary:                        £25,000 to £30,000 -subject to experience & qualifications

 

Muslim Welfare House (MWH) has been a focal service point to the local community offering a wide range of essential social, educational and religious services for over 36 years.

 

MWH’s Executive Director will manage, co-ordinate and develop the MWH strategy for serving the community. This will involve close communication and liaison with Trustees, MWH staff, funders and other partner organisations to ensure that the organisation serves and meets the needs of the local Muslim community.

 

MWH is looking for someone with good academic qualifications and at least five years’ experience preferably in the voluntary sector with good Islamic knowledge, strong organisational and managerial skills.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

The person appointed will be responsible for the development and implementation of organisational policies, procedures and administrative systems. In particular the Executive Director will be responsible for:

 

           Developing appropriate organisational structure and staffing.

           Establishing procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of projects, programmes and organisation; and providing interim reports on the MWH activities.

           Developing and maintaining motivation of the staff.

           Developing and fostering good working relations with local communities and organisations and the media as well as to responding to external enquiries.

           Encourage innovation and spotting and creating good opportunities.

           Fundraising and liaising with local funders, partners and other agencies.

           Preparing the annual budget for review and approval by the CEO.

           Preparing of a detailed annual action plan for review and approval by the CEO.

           

 

If you live in London, have the relevant experience, preferably gained in a senior position in the voluntary or public sector, with proven understanding of needs of communities living in inner city areas, particularly minority ethnic communities, we would like to hear from you.

Bazaar

Bazaar day

Dear brothers and sisters Muslim Welfare House held a bazaar to raise money for the mosque, this event was held on the 2th of June between 12:00-07:00pm. This was an exciting day as there were programmes for children to enjoy while the parents could enjoy the barbecue. This event was successful and inshallah will help benefit the mosque in many ways, the money raised was £2545 which will all go to the mosque. We thank all the families for their participation in the bazaar may allah bless them inshallah.

MWH Youth

Muslim Welfare House Has always been concerned with Youth, the strength power for the future leading generation of our community. For the past 10 years, we have focused greatly on tailoured programmes for youth in order to develop both their physical and intellectual abilities. This includes life skills, self-responsibility, leadership and several indoor and outdoor sports activities.

MWH Youth is well established youth club with registered members of over 120, it is Muslim Welfare House's priority to engage the youth, work with them and tackle their problems.
